Computer and Mass Storage D/A Conversion

The way of the future is changing. Traditional LPs, CDs and DVDs will more and more be replaced by software downloaded and stored on mass storage units, which will be integrated into Home Entertainment Units. This is all fine, but there are definite problems for the shrinking group of "Audiophiles" who do not want to sacrifice sound quality for convenience.
The downloading and storage part is fine, but the trip from the hard drive to the amplifier is where the problems occurs. The D/A conversion and analogue output stage of a sound card, or built into a Home automation system will never match the quality of a quality CD Player, that is, until the manufacturers of World class digital systems get involved. Consonance has done so, and things will get better in the future.
They have incorporated USB inputs into the World renowned CD120 Linear DAC. This DAC has been incorporated into the;
Cyber 20, which also features a superb Pure Class A, Single Ended Amplifier/Headphone Amplifier.
The Ping, a quality 100 watt/channel integrated amplifier/AM/FM tuner/CD player, and the stand alone DAC16.
Soon the even better quality DAC sections of the R2.2 CD players and then the Droplet DC5, will be available with USB inputs, so finally convenience and quality can finally be achieved together.
