The construction of the Die Walküre is exceptional at this price point. The nearly 6cm solid acrylic platter sits on a steel ball in oil bath centre bearing. The sub chassis is a one-piece, solid Aluminium casting, coupled to the mixed mater "sandwich" base which is a very solid 9cm thick. The entire assembly sits on 3 maliciously machined feet, which each have 3 ball bearings supporting a steel plate which is then de-coupled from the turntable with a pneumatic air dampened suspension. The quality high speed German motor is mounted at the back of the turntable and set into the sub base, but de-coupled from it and powered by an external power supply/variable speed controller.
The sub base can accommodate up to 3 tonearms, and arm supports are available for nearly all tonearms, including the new Consonance linear tracking air bearing LT-1/LT-1S.
