The Osborn Eclipse has been designed and constructed in Australia, without compromise, in order to obtain the highest possible sound quality. The only criteria in the choice of components, materials, size and cost is the achievement of the ultimate sound quality in a speaker less physically imposing than the Osborn "Epitome". We believe that our design goals have been realized with this speaker.

The Osborn "Eclipse" is one of the finest speakers in the world, with unmatched speed and transient attack. It has been designed for the Asian Market and smaller European homes and for people who want most of the power and authority of the larger "Epitome" but can not accommodate their sheer size.
The dynamics, bass, transparency and sheer power becomes unmatched by virtually any other speaker at any price. Few other speakers anywhere near their size can deliver the whole weight, power and authority of a full symphony orchestra. From the tinkle of the tiniest bell to the blast of a brass cannon, to the depth of a giant 32 foot pipe organ, with pin point imaging.
Several of the world's best speakers were used as references in the design of these speakers. We believe that the sound quality of these speakers is superior to all the references. The drive units were chosen from the best available from around the world for unrivalled speed and accuracy. As a result, a level of transparency comparable to the best Electrostatic speakers has been achieved.
The crossovers use the best components attainable. The capacitors are imported from America and the inductors are wound in-house as none are available commercially which meet our criteria. Each crossover weighs about 5 kg. each and is hard wired with specially selected ultra wide bandwidth, high speed data transfer cable.
The cabinets are shaped using high precision, computer controlled milling equipment. All models are constructed from 32 mm Customwood and are heavily braced. They are exceptionally heavy, solid and are acoustically inert. The Reference Eclipse is lined with a felt/lead sheet/felt sandwich for unparalleled cabinet solidarity.  High quality natural timber veneers are used, and every cabinet is carefully hand finished to ensure a superb quality finish which will grace any living room.
Only the best quality Turntable/CD Player and Amplifiers were used in the design of these speakers. These speakers have a number of outstanding features - the ability to separate instruments and place them firmly and accurately on a sound stage of uncanny width and depth. The instruments retain their correct pitch, tone and shimmer with a dynamic range and speed unmatched by any speaker this size, in any price range, with drums retaining all of their impact and depth.

Hi Greg.

I am 150 hours with my Eclipses. As of late, speed and transparency have improved dramatically.

You know, when I read the description of the Eclipses, which is very similar to that of the Grand Monuments, i was inclined to think: "Osborn is probably exaggerating quite a bit, that is so common to embellish reality when promoting a product."

Well the truth is, your description is right on. I have heard nothing that comes close to the Eclipses (with the tweeter upgraded to the reference's one in my case) under any reasonable amount. I would have to spend the price of a car to get something better, or let me guess, I could just buy a better Osborn set for still reasonable money.

Instruments have a real convincing presence: for instance, a piano sounds like a real piano in the whole spectrum. Vocals are also just so beautifully rendered. Striking. Guitars, vibraphone, saxophone, drums. Bass is also coming along. It makes its presence felt when needed. Deep, impactful bass. And the top end is so smooth.

As for overall presentation, nothing is missing: imaging, timbres, punch, delicacy, subtle inflexion, reverbs and other recording room effects, it's all there and top notch. As an overall result you have a speaker that really draws you into music.

I will be having friends over. They are all curious to hear my new speakers. I would not be surprised if if you get a couple more orders from Quebec within the next months. The Gallo 3.1 are great speakers for the money. The Eclipses are just way better.

Thank you Greg. I wish you the best.

Dear Greg

When I walked into your showroom at a hifi show in Sydney last year, I immediately knew that what I was hearing was possibly the finest hifi sound I had ever heard. Most of the demonstration speakers you had set up were very large indeed, so I was doubly surprised when I realised that the pair I was listening to was ‘only’ the Eclipse pair. (In truth, they are still rather big for most living rooms, but they are not at all big by Osborn standards.)

The next thing I couldn’t believe was the price. After listening to a couple of BYO demo tracks (yes I am very picky), I went home being completely sure that at last, after many years of wondering, I had discovered loudspeakers that were worth at least quadruple the asking price, and probably much more. Buying them became a no-brainer — despite the fact that unlike many hifi fans, I’ve never been gullible enough to throw large sums of money at small acoustic improvements. Instead, here at last was the converse: a small sum of money for a massive change to the sound. The Eclipses were orders of magnitude better than my Legend Kantu 2s (which even after 20 years do still sound superb).

I have a ridiculously large music collection, the vast majority of it classical, but not only that. Whatever I play, I am constantly amazed by the Osborns. I know for certain that nothing goes near them at their price point. You really could charge triple and that statement would still be true — but of course I woudn’t have spent that kind of money. So thank you for making possible a daily hifi sound in my house that I never thought I would experience except at a trade show.

Greg,

I have refrained from sending you my thanks for the wonderful system you have made for me. Now it is time I shared my joy with you and your prospective customers. My audio budget is not as generous as the sounds of your premium products but for the mid-range customer (such as myself) you have delivered a top-range product.
For the record I have Eclipse main speakers, a CF15 sub/midchannel combination and a pair of E1 (dipole) effect speakers. They are now well broken in and are a fundamental part of my life! I have a sound and movie experience that is the envy of my every guest. The clarity, breadth and depth of your speakers are a revelation and a joy every single day. I have revelled in every moment of listening and not regretted a single purchase.
Your helpfulness, generosity and assistance in setup deserve as much praise as your speakers because it is not as common in HiFi as it should be. I could not be any happier with the quality of the sound, the quality of the product or the quality of service that has come through dealing with you (and your lovely wife). I hope to be your customer as long as you produce equipment and to upgrade to even finer examples of your products as funds permit.
To you I give my profound thanks, to your prospective clients I have but a single dire warning - Greg's products are so fine that they will reveal every other component within your system for better, or for worse. After auditioning several mid-range amplifiers I will be returning to get one or two of those Consonance boxes from you shortly. Best wishes for the new year.

There are few speakers which manage to retain a sonic integrity at truly realistic levels, but the Osborn Eclipse does it superbly. They are simply the most satisfying speakers, for every musical genre....and I expect to be listening to them for a long time!

Dear Greg
I wish you could hear what I am listening to. I have just connected the Eclipses to the system and I am playing Yo-yo Ma's 'Cello Suites Inspired By Bach' CD. The sound is absolute heaven - I can't believe the clarity and beauty of what is filling the house.

My mother was a cello player and teacher, and our family home was always alive with her playing or listening to some piece of classical music. Your crafts have vastly improved the listening experience and have recreated wonderful memories for me, for which I will be eternally grateful.
I was also remiss in only commenting on the sound of the speakers and made no reference to the construction and finish of the Eclipses both of which match the quality of the audio. The cabinets really do look superb and fit perfectly with our interior.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Best regards
Ross Palmer

Hi Greg,

Just thought I would let you know how satisfied we are with our F4, subwoofer and centre speaker combination. The performance of these speakers are incredible with awesome detail. We never heard the shell casings hit the floor in Total Recall until we fired up the Osborn F4's. Our home movie library has never sounded so dynamic and realistic, no need to go to the movie theatre any more that's for sure. In a word, stunning!

As to our Eclipse speakers I can only say I am still in love with them, they inspire us to listen to music constantly. My wife and I listen to everything from Jazz to classical, to Rock and Roll and so on. Coupled with the Redgum RG120 amplifier, Sony XA3ES CD player and your fine speaker cable the detail literally envelopes the listener and the bass, oh that bass just knocks your socks off. After 4 years of ownership I can honestly say they are one of our dearest possessions. A comment made to me recently by a family friend who upon listening to Bachs Toccata and Fugue in d Minor through the Eclipse, said, and I quote, "I have never heard an organ sound like that before, it's like you are right there in the Cathedral, it sent a tingle down my spine." end quote.

What more can I say!

Hope you're selling lots of speakers Greg and keep up the good work of producing some of the worlds finest speakers, if not the very best.
